Illinois security deposit problem?

I'm an Illinois resident leaving a rental house. When I rented the house, it was still full of the previous renters belongings. The house was also needing to be cleaned and painted. The landlord moved the stuff from the house into the garage, and we made a verbal agreement that if we only paid half of the deposit then we would help with the cleaning and painting. We paid our first months rent and half of the deposit, then we purchased paint and rollers and drop cloths for the house. My wife and I were both working 2 jobs at the time and didnt have much time for working on the house, but we did go in the day after we made our payment and painted the master bedroom. We both had to work the next day and we returned the day after to work some more. We found that the landlord had gone in and finnished painting the downstairs, leaving 2 rooms upstairs to do. However, the landlord took home our drop cloths and rollers so we could not work on those rooms that day. The upstairs is a converted attic and has no heat or air and was pretty uncomfortable year round. Then between work and my wife getting pregnant and giving birth to our first child, we had no time or money to paint the upstairs. We gave the landlord our 30 notice last month, we had no lease, and we are now moved out. In the year we lived there the garage was never cleaned out, even though we had the understanding that the stuff would be moved into a storage unit so that we would have access to and use of the garage. The landlord also lit a boiler that the electric company deemed a fire hazard and refused to light, and he never fixed the horible plumbing that we reported as bad when we moved in. Now the landlord wants 400 dollars for the deposit because the upstairs wasnt painted. I reminded him that I had paid him 200 when we moved in, so now he wants 200 dollars to finnish the painting. I told him that that is not what a deposit is for, and he countered that I agreed to paint the house for the withholding of the deposit. He also told me three times that if I dont give him the 200 dollars that he was "going to come after me". I left the house with no damage and in the same condition as when I moved in, except I cleaned it before leaving. Can he do this? I'm under the impression that a deposit can only be held for damages that I made. As far as I'm aware, the landlord should owe me 200 dollars.

I always do that anyway...I never go over the top...I have 2 kids and try to get them a lot to open but not expensive things...one big present. Two OS's on one Computer?

I have two separate hardrives that both have different versions of XP already on them. I am not computer illiterate but i have never done this before and i am wondering if there could be any problems in doing this. One hardrive is having problems right now but once i fix it i would like to do this. The idea came up once i installed my old hardrive in my new ones place(The new one is not in my computer at all right now, and they have not been in there together at all yet). I would just like to know if it is as simple as making my new hardrive master, and my old one a slave. I would like to keep the OS's on both just in case one crashes, like a backup. Hm, I haven't had fish in a long time. What I did back in the day was just introduce new fish whenever, except with the more aggressive breeds like betas and goldfish. What I would do, if I was uncertain, is to introduce the fish when you are home for the day and keep your eye on them. If there is problems you can take him out and put him in a temporary place until you can make your long term setup. It it works, than great, if not you will have the nuisance of the temporary setup to deal with. I would think that those fish should be fine.

Your in a pickel here since most lenders will not do a home equity for less than 10k. Also, for a 10k home equity, your probably going to take a price hit as some lenders will give better rates for higher loan amounts. Depending on the credit situation of yourself and the co-signor, you may not even qualify for a home equity. The guidelines for home equities have really tightened, and if you do qualify, the rate most likely will be high. Also be aware that most lenders that I know of do not escrow with 1st lien home equities, meaning you will be responsible for property taxes and insurance on your own. The last poster hit on a point. There are two types of home equities, helocs and loans. Loans are fixed rate mortgages, but the rates tend to run high on these and with your scenario, I tend to think it might be a double digit interest rate. the heloc's are variable rate mortgages that usually (depending on the lender) adjust MONTHLY. Now the rates are usually lower, but if you can get approved for a heloc, look for one that has was it called a segment, or lock in feature. For example, say you get a 10k heloc, with the segment or lock in feature, you take a 10k draw, and then call the bank to lock in the rate for the 10k draw, thus the rate does not fluctuate on you. Most lenders will limit the number of times you can do this, so use it wisely. Last piece of information is that most helocs are 10/20 products, meaning that you can draw on the line for 10 years and you have 20 to pay it back, hope this helps

ok i just put a new headlight on my car. Not sure if Yahoo does it yet, but ESPN does in some leagues. You may have to deal with this trade though. Yeah Victor should of won that fight, he didn't do great but I though he had enough insurance to be on top of the score cards. Peterson showed allot of heart, but I think this fight showed that Ortiz hasn't developed since his last lost. I'm on my teaching practice for the academic year. I'm 19 and in my Third year of college. I have been teaching this cl English once a week for the past semester and I'm running out of things to do with them. There are two major components to milk - lactose which is the sugar and casein which is the protein. Most people who are intolerant to dairy are intolerant to lactose, in which case lactose free milk might be ok for you. You could also try goats milk which some people get on with as its easier to imilate than cow's milk, or even buffalo milk which is available from some supermarkets. If you can't get these then another non dairy alternative is oat milk which had the added benefit of being made from oat fibre and water so is completely fat free, helps lower cholesterol as it's packed with beta-glucans and tastes pretty similar to regular milk. The brand I use here in the UK is Oatley and is found in the long life milk section of the supermarket. The bigger stores even stock oat cream, a calcium enriched version and even a chocolate flavour one!

You have hit a clic problem with male/ female friendship and personally why I don't think it always works that well. I would say distance yourself a bit from her and give yourself some space. Problems with my guitar and amp (need help from an expert at guitars)?

Ok back in march i made the mistake of allowing my dad to buy me the fender starcaster pack which we both looked and I decided it was good. Now I am advancing pretty well in guitar, I know a bunch of chords,bout 6 or 7 full songs, riffs to tons of songs and i really wish I got another guitar. The guitar that came in the pack is a shitty chinese made fender single coil guitar with the most buzziest (dont know if thats a word) 10 watt amp ever. Look it up if you wan't to see how horrible it is it is called a squier sp-10 amp. All the amp has is b,treble,volume, and on you press for clean or for overdrive. Overdrive is so buzzy it is almost unbareable and to get even a slight metal tone or to get a pop punk/punk rock tone I have to turn my guitar volume to 10 and the amp to about 5 or 6 and the buzzing annoys me. The clean has like no tone and sounds so dull even when I turn my tone up and even try new strings. So I decided to start out cheap in fixing my problems and I bought a danelectro FAB distortion pedal which is in the mail right now probably arriving today. I wan't to know if this would fix my problems at all or if I should start saving up money to buy a new amp...I was looking at a line 6 spider IV or a peavey vypyr which one is better and has more punk or metal tones and is versatile. And I want to get one that is not to expensive so would 15 watts be alright if I was to join a band and wanted to be heard alright. The 15 watt ones for both of those are $100 dollars and I get 45 dollars a month for allowance because I don't want to wait a year for my dad to get me a new guitar and amp.And also will a my distortion pedal make my single coil sound heavier. Will my distortion pedal fix my problems?

However, there are people out there who actually record most of the scenes from the game (generally omitting the fighting scenes) and compile it into a movie-esque set of vcds. I don't know if they are available online though. In order to use the 120Hz mode, you have to be using an HDMI cable hooked to an HD source. Then the tv will change automatically from 60 to 120hz when the signal changes from 1 to the other. The only time I have seen 120Hz is using my samsung blu-ray player. I have my 360 and PS3 hooked up and it will only work on 60hz.
