Can you change Chinese RMB to Ringgits in Malaysia?

I live in China and will be visiting Malaysia. I would rather change my money from RMB straight in to Malaysian Ringgits, instead of having to change it from RMB to USD then USD to RM. It's probable that you cannot change the currency in China as Malaysian Ringgits are not common. However, can you travel to Malaysia with RMB and change them there?
