Exactly, what is a Mexican? Are Mexicans remnants of the Aztecs...or are they mixed Native Americans,?

Or are they part Aztec and Apache, etc. Are all Mexicans the TEX/MEX folks we find along the Rio Grande. And a related Question: What type of city is Mexico City....is it urbane, European, etc.
